The relation between eye gaze and vocal feedback
Previous studies have found a correlation between gaze directions and turn alternation, suggesting that speakers also use gaze to signal their intention to take the converstional floor. Despite the collected evidence, very little research has been carried out about the relation between turn-regulating vocal feedback, marking turn alternation, and eye gaze. We investigate the relation between turn-regulating vocal feedback and gaze directions in a corpus of Italian conversations elicited using the tangram game.
